January 11, 2011 - Dr. Paul appears with American Heart Association Incoming President Dr. Gordon Thomaselli, M.D.and former President of the American College of Sports Medicine, Dr. Barry Franklin. The conference titled, "The Power Of Play: Innovations in Getting Active!" is co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and Nintendo of America. The exclusive "INVITATION ONLY" conference in San Francisco, California from January 12-13, 2011 brought together leaders in fitness, health care, research, and video game development to engage in a cooperative discussion about the Power of Play.The American Heart Association and Nintendo of America joined forces to help people find fun, accessible ways to be more physically active. The two organizations come from different worlds but share a common goal: to work together to help Americans discover how active-play video games can contribute to healthy living.
Day one of the conference was filled with “Real Insights” and “Big Idea” speakers on the Future of Active Play including a number of cutting-edge innovators who shared what’s next in active-play video games and physical activity. Day two, a more selective group of experts discussed the state of research in the area of active-play video games and what is needed to further this area of study.
